Actuated Flight Simulator
May 2021 - May 2022
My capstone design project at Northeastern. This project was worked on by a team of 5 mechanical engineering students. The final design incorporated two electric actuators allowing two degrees of freedom, pitch, and roll. The motion was dictated by the X-Plane simulation engine. My role on the team focused on the control system, including but not limited to the microcontroller, X-Plane connectivity, MATLAB Simulink models, and all the necessary wiring. CAD work was done in SolidWorks. On the final presentation day, my group was gifted the best-in-class award from a panel of industry judges.
